Remy Turns the big ONE!!!

It has been a little while since I posted so sorry about that but I have been pretty busy with this now toddler in the house. This post is all Remy and a little lexy but thats about it.

Well Remy has turned 1 and I am one sad and proud mom that we were able to keep him alive that long and that he has still loved us that long as well. He is growing so fast and it never stops. He is always learning and teaching us to be better people and parents. For his birthday he got really lucky and his grandparents came to visit him all the way from NC. It is a 13 hour drive give or take on how often you stop for the bathroom, food and gas. Remy is loved by everyone he meets, whenever I am at the store he is always smiling at everyone that walks by and laughing so people always stop and say what a happy boy you have! I always respond I am so lucky that he is always happy (for most of the day). Remy has turned one and things have already changed, he used to eat everything and anything that we put in front of him and now he just kinda looks at it, takes a bite or two then puts it down to say he is done and wants something else. He is been taken off the pacifier for about 2 days now and is really struggling with that. Some days are okay and some days are a melt down kind of day but I know its for the best. I (no judgement) just know that the earlier I take it away the better. For his birthday we did a little gentlemen themed party of black and red because to us his favorite color is in fact red. The reason we know this is that he loves to collect those "itty bitties" from hallmark and 9x out of 10 he picks a red one and we have to restart his picking process because he picks a lot of the same ones that he already has that are red. Remy came into this world on June 20, 2014 and changed my view on life in a different way and it is the best view I could ever imagine. He was born at 3:30 pm and came into the world quick and easy. He may struggle and test me most days but it is a test worth having as I couldn't ask for anything better in a little boy. On his birthday Remy made it out like a mad house from all the love from friends and family who came to his party and we could not have asked for anything better from our friends and family who support the love of our little man.

When Remy was born I could remember looking at him as they handed him to me in the hospital is, that he was "soooo cute" I couldn't stop saying it over and over and over again. I always look back to that day how he made the whole 9 month thing nothing, that it was all worth it just to hold this little boy in my arms and to watch Dan go from a great husband to an amazing father. Dan always loved to let him sleep on his chest it was their true bonding time. When ever I needed Remy to fall asleep I could always count of Dan to lay him on his chest in hopes that Remy would fall asleep just so that Dan would be able to as well.

Lexy is doing well, her and Remy's bond grows each day little by little but it does grow. Lexy is the best dog for any age of kids she just takes it all in no matter what they do to her she will take the tackles, the hitting, the droll, and of course the free food scrapes that he toss her way. But their bond truly is like no other. I will bring Remy into the room where she is and say is that lexy? To which he always responds with a smile and giggle. I will put Remy on the ground and he will crawl as fast as he can to her bed only to just lay his head on her. It is the sweetest thing you have ever seen.

11 Months old

Well hello fellow readers and welcome back to my monthly blog.

Well a couple of days ago Remy turned 11 months old and it really hit me hard that my little baby boy is no longer a baby he is a little man or a little boy so to speak I can't believe he is getting so big so fast. I love this boy to the end of the earth. He is growing so much and growing so much he loves to move around and speak his mind (scream his mind). He loves to say Dada, Mama and give high fives whenever he can. His favorite foods right now I would have to say is everything!! Just kidding he really does like a lot of the foods we feed him but right now he really loves Ritz crackers so much that if I am eating one that he will race over to me and go ahhh ahhh ahh until I give in and give him one. I can't really complain there could be worse things that he wants to eat. Some more things about Remy is that he loves to go to the park on walks with his best friend, Lexy (yes our dog) and go on the swings. Remy really loves to interact with other babies and kids in or ward especially our friends baby named Ben. Every time I go to the park and meet Rachel and Ben at the park they go on the swings together and we always let them play with each other, in other words Remy likes to squeeze him and touch his face all the time while Ben just sits there and takes it.

I (Jesse) finally finished my Associates Degree in general studies and I am soooooo glad I finally was able to get that done. I feel so much better about myself. I finished school with a 3.32 GPA which is amazing considering that I have been in and out of school since I graduated high school back in 2007. School has never been my strong suit but it is worth it to me because I do not want my kids to grow up and say to me why do I have to go to college if mommy never did. I just don't want that feeling of being nothing and feeling like nothing. If your next question for me is will I get a bachelors degree? Yes, yes I will because I feel that my education is important because if I ever need to get a big girl job then I have a degree to fall back on to help me get there. I will go back to school when Dan finishes his masters degree here in St. Louis so that I do not have to start something and then try to transfer all my credits all over the place only to find out that some may not transfer at all. My last semester at ISU was good I finished strong and got 2-A's, 1-B+ and 1-C which I am pretty happy about I was really nervous that I would not pass my online math class because it was so hard to follow and figure it out on my own but luckily I have a lot of math Facebook friends who were able to help me out.

Dan did well as well in this past semester of school and passed as usual with flying colors. He does so well in school and does not give himself a lot of credit. Dan this past week started his summer internship for school at SLU hospital and is really loving it. He says it will definitely be a learning experience which is something that is always good because that means it was the right fit for him. He goes to a lot meetings and will do a lot of projects over the summer which will help him in the future with his job. One thing that I know that he loves about his job is that he has gotten a lot of free food. I mean who doesn't love free food??

Lexy, is great as always. She and Remy are really starting to form a bond between each other and it is the sweetest thing to watch. He can do anything to Lexy and she will just take it no matter what Remy does to her. He pulls her ears, pokes her in the eye, and even sits on her and she just sits there. She truly is the best dog anyone could have ever asked for. I love my dog so much. Every time Remy sees Lexy he just smiles and laughs because he loves her so much even if she doesn't love him as much just yet.

Till next time when Remy turns 1!!!!!!!

10 months old

The time sure does fly with a child in your arm.

Remy is 10 months old now and it is just sad to see him get so old so fast. I wish time would just slow down with him. He is already pulling up on everything and sometimes pushes him self off of me to stand on his own. He also is getting two more teeth right now at the same time which would make 8 teeth all together. Remy is a ball of energy that never stops moving even in his sleep. He is always crawling, laughing and smiling. I love that boy and it kills me every time I walk into his room and see that he has grown 100000 inches each time he wakes up. The best things about Remy besides everything is his laugh and smile lately. On those really rough days when all I want to do is scream and yell is when his smile gets me the most. When he smiles and laughs it makes me know that I am at least doing something right.

I am really learning a lot about being a mom and it is more then I thought I would ever learn. I am still a new mom and am learning everyday I am with Remy but the hardest parts about being a mom is learning that it is not about you anymore, and that everything is about the family first then you (if your lucky :) ). I am really learning that I am selfish and that is something I do not like about myself and really need to step back and evaluate what I am doing before I do it or get mad about something. Today at church I kept listening to people talk about how they were doing this or doing that for themselves except for one girl who talked about serving others first before herself and that really got to me about how all I do is think about myself and what will benefit me. I really really struggle a lot with the fact that as a mom it isn't all me me me any more or I I I, I wish I would have known this before I had Remy so that I could have mentally prepared myself for it better but there is no better way of learning something then to be thrown into the fire. Being a mom is the most rewarding thing you can do and it is something I see everyday when Remy smiles or laughs at me which is a blessing with in itself. A mom isn't just a person who wipes your nose, or changes your diaper, a mom is someone who gives their life for you, someone who loves you unconditionally, a person who is your jungle gym when the other toys aren't enough, a mom is an amazing calling and I couldn't have asked for anything better but to be a better mom for my son and my future children (no im not pergo!).

Dan is doing well and is almost done with another semester of school and is about a year left of school. Both of us can not believe that it is going by so quickly already and that he is almost done. The funny thing that Dan said the other week was how when you want to be some where the time goes by sooo fast but when you don't want to be the time seems to stand still. Dan's birthday was this month and he has been really into racquetball lately so for his birthday Remy and I got him his very own racquetball racket for it since he always has to borrow from the school. Dan also got some birthday money which he was able use and by himself some Sperry-Topsider shoes which he has been dying to get and I can testify that he looks really good in some boat shoes.

Lexy is doing well and is loving life as I type. She is sleeping all the time and loves to snuggle. Lexy if you didn't know is actually a really good therapy dog or a sick dog so to speak. I say this because when ever either Dan or myself is sick she will not leave your side for anything until she knows that you yourself feels better. Lexy is still on a special diet and can only eat a special dog food which cost an arm and a leg to buy. It is a good thing that this dog is loved!

9 months old and counting....

Welcome back to the blog, it has been a little while since I posted and not only that but I am late on this post seeing how Remy is 9 months old now and I typically post on his new month mark.

Well, I have been busy trying to really get this last semester down packed and done. I want to make sure I pass all my classes especially my math class seeing how it is the only class that really stands between me and my Associates degree. I will then go back once Dan is done with school in about a year. We were able to go home and visit the good ole NC because my brother and his family got sealed at the temple which was amazing to be a part of and I was glad they allowed us to come and celebrate that moment with them. I got my hair cut while I was there as I always have to because I do not trust anyone in St.Louis yet to cut my hair. It is funny as a women hair is your love, you can not go from one place such as sports clips to another like super cuts. Women are like fine wine they grow with age wait that doesn't make sense, let me try that again women like to stick to that one person they find suits their needs best just like a doctor. A hairstylest is your doctor for your hair and once you find one you never switch. So I got that done. I also got to spend lots and lots of time with my mom which was really nice because I don't get that very often if not at all when I am home due to work or lots of other people need her attention so it was nice to have her for a couple of days to myself (selfish I know). I got to spend time taking photos of my brothers family which I love that they allow me to do so and I really enjoy the practice and love they show me by allowing this to happen. Jen and I got to hang out once or twice but for us that is not nearly enough time we both know that. All in all it was a good trip and I hope to go home sometime soon again if our budget allows.

Dan is doing well in school he got an offer or maybe two for a summer internship out here which will be great because then we do not have to spend double rent over the summer and it will save us money that way. He is really excited to start an internship and feel like he is part of society by having a "big boy" job. I can't wait for him to go into his field and really get excited because he has worked so hard to get where he is today. Dan loves being a dad, the reason why I know this is because the way he looks at Remy and plays with him always melts my heart.

Remy is doing well he is 9 months old now, he crawls, talks kinda, says mama & dada, as well as loves to pull him self up on anything he can. He is a mover and always has been. We wonder if all that energy he has is a good thing or a bad thing but I guess it could go both ways. Remy is going through a phase for sure right now were he doesn't want to take 2 naps a day anymore and if he falls asleep in the car for 15 min. he thinks that it will count for a nap. We still try to put him down but he ends up screaming for about 20 min. until we go in there. It is a struggle to get him back to his old ways but I do not know if it will happen but I really hope he does. I need him to take those 2 naps a day at least until the semester ends would be nice. He loves to do this funny breathing thing were he breaths really heavy over and over because he is excited it is pretty cute. Remy,Dan and I went to the zoo and met up with a friend Megan and her family for a fun little zoo date. I think Remy really enjoyed going to the zoo with them as did we.

Lexy is doing better her bladder stones seem to have gone way back down which is great! She no longer needs to be in her cage while out and about again. It is nice not having to put her in there because I always feel bad that I have to do that. Lexy has figured out now more then before that highchair = food from Remy. We often find her searching for scraps after he has finished eating. It is really funny but bad at the same time as she is now on a strict no scrapes, nothing but dog food diet. I hate it because I love to give her veggies but can't, but I love my dog and will do what the doctor says.

Thats all for now

My crawling 8 month old

Well, it is that time again the time to read a whole bunch of randomness.

Well Remington is 8 months old now and can crawl, sit up all on his own, climb up things, and even drink water from his sippy cup. He is getting old and growing up way to fast. He loves to talk and laugh with his dad. It is funny because when I will ask Remy to say dad he looks at me funny but when Dan asks him to he 75% of the time will do it. I love watching Remy get excited for things because it is so cute. He will kick his legs like crazy and breath really fast and heavy it is just to cute. Remy is such a good baby the reason being is that we go grocery shopping at 3 different stores, I know it sounds like a lot but we can not get everything we want at one store plus most of our stores are all in the same area. But back to Remy, sometimes it can take us up to 3 hours to go grocery shopping ( it varies) and he will last the entire time and be happy about it. It really helps that he does not mind going to every store with me and Dan.

Lexy is doing okay she recently had bladder stones back in November of last year and lately she has been going to the bathroom a lot more so this week I will have to take her to the vet again and see if they are back. She might need to get surgery to remove them, which is something I do not want to hear but she is a young dog so it's no big deal more of the cost is what I do not want to know. It is crazy how much we will do for our dogs no matter what, I swear they are like children. Dan says that they are like children all the time I always agreed with him but lately more then ever is he right about dogs and children being the same.

Dan is taking his midterms this week and I can not believe that it is already that time. I mean this semester sometimes seems to go really slow and then sometimes it goes by really fast. In about a week he has spring break were my spring break is not until April. Dan has really enjoyed playing racquetball with another guy from our church and is getting better at it each week. He also has been playing basketball with our church basketball league and they are 7-1 they only lost one game due to a forfeit. Soon they will have a tournament which I am sure that Dan and his team will dominate.

I am doing okay I am just trying to finish up my last semester with flying colors so I can finally get a Associates degree. It may only be in general studies for now but it is better then nothing. I love that Dan supports me in trying to finish school. Once Dan is done with his Masters I will go back and get a Bachelors degree but for now my Associates will do. I have been working at a new site and I now have a new title at work. I work in child watch were I look after younger children their ages range from 7 weeks- 8 years old. Child watch is were people bring their children to work and drop them off for the max of 2 hours so that they may work out. I switched jobs because it is a lot closer to our place as well as it saves money on gas, and lastly I can bring Remy to work. It is great for Remy because it gives him the chance to socialize with other children. He comes to work with me about 4-5 days out of the week. It is a lot of work and a lot of times I want to pass out because it wears me out but it helps us not having to worry about who can be home to watch Remy.
Well that is all for now, till next time
