9 months old and counting....

Welcome back to the blog, it has been a little while since I posted and not only that but I am late on this post seeing how Remy is 9 months old now and I typically post on his new month mark.

Well, I have been busy trying to really get this last semester down packed and done. I want to make sure I pass all my classes especially my math class seeing how it is the only class that really stands between me and my Associates degree. I will then go back once Dan is done with school in about a year. We were able to go home and visit the good ole NC because my brother and his family got sealed at the temple which was amazing to be a part of and I was glad they allowed us to come and celebrate that moment with them. I got my hair cut while I was there as I always have to because I do not trust anyone in St.Louis yet to cut my hair. It is funny as a women hair is your love, you can not go from one place such as sports clips to another like super cuts. Women are like fine wine they grow with age wait that doesn't make sense, let me try that again women like to stick to that one person they find suits their needs best just like a doctor. A hairstylest is your doctor for your hair and once you find one you never switch. So I got that done. I also got to spend lots and lots of time with my mom which was really nice because I don't get that very often if not at all when I am home due to work or lots of other people need her attention so it was nice to have her for a couple of days to myself (selfish I know). I got to spend time taking photos of my brothers family which I love that they allow me to do so and I really enjoy the practice and love they show me by allowing this to happen. Jen and I got to hang out once or twice but for us that is not nearly enough time we both know that. All in all it was a good trip and I hope to go home sometime soon again if our budget allows.

Dan is doing well in school he got an offer or maybe two for a summer internship out here which will be great because then we do not have to spend double rent over the summer and it will save us money that way. He is really excited to start an internship and feel like he is part of society by having a "big boy" job. I can't wait for him to go into his field and really get excited because he has worked so hard to get where he is today. Dan loves being a dad, the reason why I know this is because the way he looks at Remy and plays with him always melts my heart.

Remy is doing well he is 9 months old now, he crawls, talks kinda, says mama & dada, as well as loves to pull him self up on anything he can. He is a mover and always has been. We wonder if all that energy he has is a good thing or a bad thing but I guess it could go both ways. Remy is going through a phase for sure right now were he doesn't want to take 2 naps a day anymore and if he falls asleep in the car for 15 min. he thinks that it will count for a nap. We still try to put him down but he ends up screaming for about 20 min. until we go in there. It is a struggle to get him back to his old ways but I do not know if it will happen but I really hope he does. I need him to take those 2 naps a day at least until the semester ends would be nice. He loves to do this funny breathing thing were he breaths really heavy over and over because he is excited it is pretty cute. Remy,Dan and I went to the zoo and met up with a friend Megan and her family for a fun little zoo date. I think Remy really enjoyed going to the zoo with them as did we.

Lexy is doing better her bladder stones seem to have gone way back down which is great! She no longer needs to be in her cage while out and about again. It is nice not having to put her in there because I always feel bad that I have to do that. Lexy has figured out now more then before that highchair = food from Remy. We often find her searching for scraps after he has finished eating. It is really funny but bad at the same time as she is now on a strict no scrapes, nothing but dog food diet. I hate it because I love to give her veggies but can't, but I love my dog and will do what the doctor says.

Thats all for now

My crawling 8 month old

Well, it is that time again the time to read a whole bunch of randomness.

Well Remington is 8 months old now and can crawl, sit up all on his own, climb up things, and even drink water from his sippy cup. He is getting old and growing up way to fast. He loves to talk and laugh with his dad. It is funny because when I will ask Remy to say dad he looks at me funny but when Dan asks him to he 75% of the time will do it. I love watching Remy get excited for things because it is so cute. He will kick his legs like crazy and breath really fast and heavy it is just to cute. Remy is such a good baby the reason being is that we go grocery shopping at 3 different stores, I know it sounds like a lot but we can not get everything we want at one store plus most of our stores are all in the same area. But back to Remy, sometimes it can take us up to 3 hours to go grocery shopping ( it varies) and he will last the entire time and be happy about it. It really helps that he does not mind going to every store with me and Dan.

Lexy is doing okay she recently had bladder stones back in November of last year and lately she has been going to the bathroom a lot more so this week I will have to take her to the vet again and see if they are back. She might need to get surgery to remove them, which is something I do not want to hear but she is a young dog so it's no big deal more of the cost is what I do not want to know. It is crazy how much we will do for our dogs no matter what, I swear they are like children. Dan says that they are like children all the time I always agreed with him but lately more then ever is he right about dogs and children being the same.

Dan is taking his midterms this week and I can not believe that it is already that time. I mean this semester sometimes seems to go really slow and then sometimes it goes by really fast. In about a week he has spring break were my spring break is not until April. Dan has really enjoyed playing racquetball with another guy from our church and is getting better at it each week. He also has been playing basketball with our church basketball league and they are 7-1 they only lost one game due to a forfeit. Soon they will have a tournament which I am sure that Dan and his team will dominate.

I am doing okay I am just trying to finish up my last semester with flying colors so I can finally get a Associates degree. It may only be in general studies for now but it is better then nothing. I love that Dan supports me in trying to finish school. Once Dan is done with his Masters I will go back and get a Bachelors degree but for now my Associates will do. I have been working at a new site and I now have a new title at work. I work in child watch were I look after younger children their ages range from 7 weeks- 8 years old. Child watch is were people bring their children to work and drop them off for the max of 2 hours so that they may work out. I switched jobs because it is a lot closer to our place as well as it saves money on gas, and lastly I can bring Remy to work. It is great for Remy because it gives him the chance to socialize with other children. He comes to work with me about 4-5 days out of the week. It is a lot of work and a lot of times I want to pass out because it wears me out but it helps us not having to worry about who can be home to watch Remy.
Well that is all for now, till next time

Remington is 7 months old

Welcome back to the blog!

Well lets start off by saying people always say that kids grow up way to fast and it is so true. Remington is now 7 months old and he can say dada(dad) quite a lot lately he really enjoys hearing himself say it. Remy also can now sit up on his own but he still has a hard time transitioning from army crawling to siting up so if he wants to sit up he needs a little help. He now has one tooth with another one coming in as we speak it is peaking through the gums but not fully out. The foods that he really enjoys lately are sweet potato's, rice cereal, and peas. Remington has been able to hold his bottle on his own since he was about 4 months old and still does it with no problem. We took Remy with us this past weekend to a car show here in St.Louis and he got a lot of awww look at that baby he is sooo cute but the best one was when a random rep at a stand says can I take a picture of your baby for my girlfriend she is baby hungry. It made me laugh and told him good luck on the baby hungry thing because it is hard for a guy to deal with it. One thing that I love about this kid (well i love everything about him) is that when we are feeding him he always is looking for Lexy and when he finds her all he does is smile and squeal at her which makes her ears perk up.

Dan is starting his second semester in his Masters program at SLU and he is really enjoying it. This semester he already likes some of his teachers as well as they have been letting him out about 10 min. earlier which is really nice for me because I can spend more time with him before I leave for work or Remy has to go down for a nap. When he goes down for a nap Dan has to wait for him to wake back up until he see's him again so when he gets home early he always wants to hold him and give him a kiss before putting him down for a nap. I love how much Dan and Remy enjoy each others company they really have a special bond. Dan spends most of his Monday and Friday nights with Remy which I think he really enjoys.

I am doing okay I am working still but I am getting transferred to another site this week because there was an opening as well as it will be a lot closer to our place so it will save on gas and I will be able to bring Remy to my new job! I love this because I wont miss my time with Remy as well as he will be able to socialize with other kids and learn to share even though he might be a little young it will help in the long run. I have started what I hope to be my last semester of my Associates degree online. I am taking a math class right now online but it is really hard a friend of mine is helping me understand some of the material but my teacher is a really hard grader on showing your work which I feel is a little unfair. I have been making a couple more post lately because I am making things off of Pinterest or by request. So if you have a request for me to try out let me know and I will try it out post about it and show my review.

Lexy, she is doing well sleeping all the time as normal. She had a little down fall at one point because she got bladder stones and now she is taking meds to fix it as well as special food. For a while she would go to the bathroom about 5-10 times within a hour where she usually doesn't have to go to the bathroom about every 2-3 hours. But everything the doctor told us to do for her has helped so much so we are hoping that it has worked in the long run and that we will not have to get it surgically removed. Other than that as always Lexy is getting better with Remy little by little everyday.

Sorry this was kind of scatter brained but we have been watching the Office lately (Dan's first time) and we can't stop laughing so I just get lost in what I am typing.

Crock pot pizza!!!

You read that right I made upon request I have made crock pot pizza! It was pretty amazing it only took a good amount of time but that was my own choice. This recipe talks about using Pillsbury refrigerated dough. Instead of using that kind of dough I went another route and decided to make my own dough from scratch. It is better that way in my own opinion (but then again I have not attempted it the other way either). Another suggestion is that you should poke the dough before cooking it because if you do not then it will create air bubbles (which I learned from working at pizza hut). I would make this recipe only if you wanted a deep dish style pizza and if you are feeding for two depending on the style of crockpot that you have. Whether it is the smaller circle style one (feeds 1-2 people/adults) or the larger oval one (probably feeds more but im not sure how many). I would give this recipe a 5 out of 5 it was really good and it tasted amazing! The two links I am going to post with this is a dough recipe from one link and the crockpot instructions on the other link. Keep in mind that these both come from my pintrest and that I would suggest you follow my pintrest board "things I have made or Tried" because I pin all the stuff that I have personally tried and you can always comment below if I truly did like it or if I changed something in those pins.

Again I do apologize as for some reason the link's do not work on my blog so you will have to copy and paste the links below:

(Crockpot Recipe): http://momonamission.me/crock-pot-deep-dish-pizza/

I do not have a picture of this next quick link but it is amazing! I made these home made brownies and I did add nutella as well as dark chocolate chips to this recipe probably more then they tell you to but who cares on how much you use because according to Dan you can never have enough chocolate chips. Which I know is correct! So below is the link for these amazing brownies as well.

And for everyone else who would just like a quick update on the family, we have started another semester of school it will be my hopefully last semester for my associates degree and Dan's second semester of is masters degree in Health Care Administration. Remington is doing well but is going through a little bit of mommy phase where all he wants is me which I can not complain about but sometimes I need a break and I know Dan wants some close Remy time as well. Lexy is doing well she is being more and more lazy lately and staying in our room most of the day but I think that is because someone is almost always home so she gets a little tired of people being home and wants her own little bit of alone time herself.

6 months old, Christmas time and a new crock pot recipe to try

Happy Holidays and everything else in between. I know I have let all my readers down by not posting in a while but as the holidays came in full force this year I was forced to put this on the back burner for a while.

This past month has been a crazy one with Christmas, work, finishing the semester and family coming into town I felt that I did not have all the time in the world to get everything done but I did some how. This month Remington turned the big 1/2 birthday! It is so sad that this time is going to fast but it is fun to see how the new things he is always learning. He is so close to crawling each day, some days he will move one hand forward and others he will just arm crawl or do the worm every where he goes. Not only is he close to crawling but his first tooth is coming in nice and sharp. I am always checking his mouth looking at it each day just watching its progress little by little coming in and touching it. Remington also is close to sleeping through the night. He only wakes up to get a diaper change but soon that will change as I will go out and buy those overnight super absorbent cloth diaper inserts so that he will be set all night long. Remington is not only doing those things but he really enjoys laughing and holding the bottle all by himself, I think he would feed himself if I would let him but I know he isnt ready for that just yet. Most days he loves to just lay on the ground and hang out all by himself but lately he has become more clingy which is weird for Dan and I because he typically is just a chill baby and wants to hang out. My in-laws came to town this Christmas and Remington made out like a bandit from them which was really nice. He got lots of new books, a couple of toys, and some fun shirts/onesies/pajamas from my siblings.

Dan finished his first semester of grad school with flying colors! He did such a great job with school this past semester that I do not know how he does it! I mean he has me, Remington, Lexy, homework, and test all at the same time and still manages to do well. This year for Christmas I got Dan a straight edge kit to practice with since his brother got him a sharp one and he is so excited to try it out that he will shave his massive beard!!! Wait what you said he is going to shave his beard??? You heard right he is willing to shave his beard just to use his straight edge.... It will be a sad day when that beard is gone.

Me, well I have finished my first entire semester of online school and it was a lot more work than I thought it would be but at the same time what else did I expect. I was just always doing tons of homework and my test/quizes were always either piling up in one class or another which was kind of hard to deal with because either they all had things due the same day or they would not open up until later in the week when I would want to get ahead start on all the school work. I finally have had a vacation from work due to school being out there is no work which is nice but kinda of not nice at the same time. Next semester will be my last one for my associates degree which has taken me years to get done but I am so happy it is finally within arms reach. It always seems that once I start school something happens and I stop going again. This past semester almost had me stop again. I have one semester left and one of my required classes I need to graduate is a math class and they offer it online for my school but through another program which I am not apart of so for over a month I had been calling all sorts of people to get them to let me take it online due to living out of state. I did not care what I had to do but I would do it. I would get a lot of people saying they could help me but then weeks later stating that they could not help like they thought they could. But the light finally opened up when I got a hold of a man who said he would make sure to help me as much as he could. He put me in contact with all the right people to were I am now enrolled in that math class through another school but he did make sure it would transfer over when I was done. I was so excited, months of hard work is finally paying off and all I have to do is pass this math class and I will feel somewhat accomplished until I get my Bachelor's degree in a couple of years. This past semester doing a full course load, working part time, and being a mom I still somehow managed to take 14 credit hours online and pass all my class 2-A's 1-B and 1-Passing grade (don't ask it was chemistry).

Lexy, she has had it really rough lately. This past year some of my readers may know that she had a fox tail get stuck in her mouth earlier this year and it got infected and now she has bladder stones. For a good while she was even peeing blood and you could tell she was not feeling well because she would barley run up the stairs. It was sad to see her like that but we have been giving her medicine and now she eats a special food and is doing a lot better. Lexy also recently turned 6 years old and she is the best dog I have ever known. She loves to snuggle all day and night. She truly is the best dog a girl could ever ask for.

Last but not least, my newest Pintrest meal/recipe that I have tried and loved was Texas Roadhouse Rolls. It was a copy cat recipe that I found and I personally would say it came really close. We had the LDS missionaries over for Christmas dinner and I made them for dinner and one of the Elders probably ate like 5 and I had made 24. This recipe also came with their copycat honey butter recipe which we are still using. It is so good and so fatty so you have been warned!!! cincyshopper.com/copycat-texas-roadhouse-rolls-cinnamon-honey-butter-recipe/ (copy and paste the link, sorry the links will not work on my blog)

Thanks for stopping by!
